These beauty tips for your face and neck can help reduce the signs of aging.
You can find a ton of beauty tips online, but how many address
the needs of women over 40? These anti-aging face care routines can help your eyes, face and neck look younger and slow the aging process.
While this entire website is about anti-aging beauty tips
for the face and neck, the ones listed here are my personal favorites.
So, I put together a list of my favorite instant beautifying tips for your face and neck. And, some of these routines can help slow the aging process too. I like these because they’re:
Give a few of these beauty tips a test drive – you might be
surprised with your results!
Beauty Tip 1: Hide wrinkles under the eyes
This is one beauty tip women over 40 (or under) can appreciate! You can temporarily firm and smooth the skin under the eyes in just a few minutes.
Who doesn’t love instant gratification?

Beauty Tip 2: Salt Facial Skin Renewal Therapy
OMG! Love face scrubs!
I started scrubbing (exfoliating) my face when I was 15 years old. Back then, there weren’t many choices, so I settled for a drugstore product called a Buff Puff – a mild abrasive scrubbing pad.
But, these days I like to make my own scrubs which you can tailor it depending on your skin needs. During dry, cold winter months, add some oils to your scrubs. During hot, humid weather, omit oils and just use water to mix with your scrubs.
One of my favorite and very healthy beauty tip for you is a salt facial. I always assumed that salt was drying, but it’s the opposite.
Can this slow facial aging?
As we age, our skin is not able to shed dead skin cells as easily as it once did. You can help this process along with a good facial scrub. A good scrub helps remove those skin dulling dead cells, unclog pores, and help anti-aging products penetrate better.
Salt can help the skin retain moisture and hydration in the skin where it’s most needed. It also has anti-inflammatory and calming properties. If your skin is very dry or sensitive, try adding honey to the mixture.
Honey is also a great skin healer and hydrator. In fact, it actually helps draw moisture out of the air and into the skin! Honey is cheap and very effective for plumping up parched skin and works well for women and men. The only downside it’s a bit sticky/messy.
Plus, it also has antibacterial and anti-oxidant properties, which is bonus for aging skin.
- Mix a tablespoon of Himalayan salt (make sure it’s the finely ground type) with a tablespoon of honey. Create a paste like mixture
- Apply to clean dry face, avoiding the eye area. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then for the last 20 seconds or so, apply a warm moist face towel across your face.
- Next, use the washcloth to gently rub (exfoliating your skin) the mixture around and off your face. Rinse well and apply your favorite moisturizer or anti-aging cream.
I have found big bags of this finely ground Himalayan salt in discount stores like Tuesday Morning or Ross.
Beauty Tip 3: Self tanners
Self tanners have been around for years and yet many products tend to leave a weird orange skin color.
Many women have a hard time finding a sunless tanner that works well with their skin tone. Or some say that self-tanners cause clogged pores or breakouts.
But, this self-tanner is different. For me, this is one of the best (and least expensive) beauty tips for the face, neck, and body that offers almost instant results.
If you’ve noticed a change in skin tone – more blotchy, spotted or more brown spots. Self tanning is a great option to smooth out your complexion.
Adding a sunless boost of natural color helps hide imperfections like freckles, age spots, and broken blood vessels… All without dangerous sun rays.
- exfoliated your face well and rinse
- pat dry your skin well, then apply a light layer of self-tanner cream
- wash hands well
- let the self-tanner dry before getting wet or applying makeup
I smooth this anti-aging, vitamin rich cream on my face and body about 2 times a week and it hydrates while helps give my face and body a gorgeous year round glow.
Why a Quality Self Tanner Matters: Many women have told me that drugstore brand self-tanning creams and sprays don’t offer the best color result. And I know what they mean. I’ve been using self tanners for over 30 years and some made my face look dark, but dirty and dull.
If you’re very pale consider using a lighter toned tanner and consider and have consider spending a little extra and get a good quality tanning cream.
If you haven’t had any luck with self-tanning facial products, consider giving this one a try. It is a hydrating, anti-aging self tanning cream.
Beauty Tip 4: Plump up thin lips
As we age our lips tend to thin out. They lose shape and definition. I found a simple solution to this issue that only takes 2 minutes and lasts for hours. It’s a one time cost solution that you can use over and over again without having to spend thousands of dollars for lip injections.
Beauty Tip 5: Firm and smooth the neck skin
Help smooth neck wrinkles and lines and help reduce cording…i.e. turkey neck with neck and face exercise! It’s easy and quick and if you do it consistently, you can help improve skin tone and texture on the neck.
This is a “bonus” exercise and should be done in conjunction with a full face workout for best results.
A facial workout will also help firm the lower part of the face (like jowls) which can also help firm-up the neck.
Before doing any of the neck exercises, make sure to apply a moisturizing cream under your chin and all over your neck.
Beauty Tip 6: Fuller cheeks
Whether you were born with full chiseled cheekbones or not; this beauty tip will help make the most of your cheeks as well as your face and neck.
While you can’t change the shape of your face, you can help build-up underlying muscles for a fuller firmer cheek area.
